Business

BlueLink operates as a Managed Services Provider, we like to think of ourselves as an extension of your team providing all the benefits that come with having a dedicated IT team, at a fraction of the cost.  This page serves as guidance to understand what types of events are covered, or not covered.  The actual tasks are numerous and we don’t attempt to describe them all.

Services descriptions are subject to change.

WORKSTATIONS

  • Existing Install: All maintenance and troubleshooting needs are included with some exceptions*.
  • Planned Replacement: The labor to build, configure, and transfer data to a new system is included under contract for systems that have been covered for at least one year.  After that we support a 3 year refresh cycle for desktop and laptop systems.
  • Unplanned Replacement: A system being replaced or rebuilt due to hardware or software failure is covered except in cases where the replacement/rebuild is a result of inappropriate use of the system*.
  • New Install: When adding a new workstation to the environment a one time initial setup fee of $100 will be assessed, the system will then be added to your monthly support contract.

SERVERS

  • Existing Install: The software and hardware components will be evaluated at contract start and those systems will be maintained.
  • Planned Replacement: Labor to replace a server is considered a billable project.
  • Unplanned Replacement: A system being replaced or rebuilt due to hardware or software failure is covered except in cases where the replacement/rebuild is a result of inappropriate use of the system*.
  • New Install: When adding a new server, the install will be performed on a billable project basis, the system will then be added to your monthly support contract.

NETWORK DEVICES (WiFi, Switches, Wiring, etc)

  • WiFi: Connectivity to company WiFi is fully supported.  Support for connectivity to hotel or private WiFi is not covered under contract.
  • Switches (LAN): Maintenance and connectivity to the company network infrastructure is fully supported.
  • Wiring Infrastructure: If the physical wiring fails, repair of that wiring is not covered.
  • Printers: Support and maintenance for local and network printers is included.  Adding or replacing network printers is a billable project.

SERVER SOFTWARE

  • Existing software systems will be maintained including updates.  Software that is severely out of date which results significantly more planning, such as manual migration of data, duplication of system, or is otherwise considered a major overhaul, may be assessed as a billable project.

LOCATIONS

  • Service locations will be identified in the service contract.  Onsite support provided at locations not covered will be billable. Limited support will be provided for covered workstations in a non-covered location.

PROJECTS

  • Performing as your virtual CIO (Chief Information Officer) BlueLink will be vigilant in seeking the use of the technology to reduce risk, increase efficiency,  increase stability, and otherwise support the growth of your organization.  While the evaluation and analysis is covered under contract, the deployment efforts would be a billable project.

*Support time caused by inappropriate usage or modification of the system may be billable.  This often includes system infection due to accessing inappropriate websites, or allowing unauthorized users to make physical or software changes in the environment.

Residential

Free Diagnostic

This is a 15 min system evaluation targeted at your reported issue. We will provide you with our findings and our recommendation of what should be done to fix your reported issue.

For a Full Computer Evaluation we will:

  1. Hardware and Software Health diagnostic. (This includes testing hardware including RAM, Storage Drives, CPU, Ports, etc.)
  2. Check for current device drivers
  3. Scan for malicious software installed
  4. Check for system performance (Drive space, RAM and CPU usage).
  5. We will provide you with our findings of the current condition of your computer, estimated life expectancy and cost benefit analysis of further repairs.

Storage Drive Upgrade/Replacement

For a primary OS drive we will:

  1. Backup user directories.
  2. Remove old drive and wipe data from it where possible using a 3 pass 0 Write process.
  3. Install new drive, and install OS, hardware drivers, and OS updates.
  4. Create user accounts.
  5. Copy your backed-up user directories onto the new system.
  6. Installation of software you have valid licensing for.
  7. Sync any cloud based software (dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, etc.).
  8. Download and install software updates.

For replacement of secondary drives we will:

  1. Backup all accessible data.
  2. Removal of hardware.
  3. Installation of new drive.
  4. Configuration of drive for use.
  5. Copy of backed-up files to new drive.

For adding new non OS drive we will:

  1. Installation of new drive.
  2. Configuration of drive for use.

For Operating System Re-Installation we will:

  1. Backup user directories.
  2. Configure drive for reuse.
  3. Install OS, hardware drivers, and OS updates.
  4. Create user accounts.
  5. Copy your backed-up user directories onto the new system.
  6. Installation of software you have valid licensing for.
  7. Sync any cloud based software (dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, etc.).
  8. Download and install software updates.

For Virus/Malware Removal We will:

  1. Possible infection assessment (Manual look for Browser Extensions, newly installed applications, deep scan using our cleaning tools).
  2. Hard Drive Clean-up using our data cleanup software tool.
  3. Verification of removal of infections.
  4. Verification of installed, up to date protection.

For a PC Tune Up we check the following things and provide you with any recommended upgrades.

  1. Full Computer Evaluation (see above).
  2. Scan for Virus/Malware and removal.
  3. Hard Drive Clean-Up.
  4. Check for all OS, Driver and Software Updates.

Software Installation Includes:

  1. Validation of license, minimum requirements.
  2. Installation of software and updates.
  3. Verification of software functionality.
